I won't be too disappointed if I can't make the qualifying time. I tend to find the joy in almost anything. I feel like I can't really fail if I at least give it a shot. It's all a step in the right direction, no matter the outcome.

KimKimsRunninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12024491497019669070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-347447671317913891.post-8899596608342230042008-03-30T10:12:00.000-04:002008-03-30T10:12:00.000-04:00Thank you Sherry! I did end up running Napa which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Good luck with attempting to qualify for Boston, but be realistic with your expectations. After being 7 minutes short in 2006, i thought it would be cakewalk to trim that last 7 minutes off my time, but here I am still waiting over a year later. It's probably a bit different for you since you just started running. You should see some big gains in your first year of training so it's definitely possible, but don't be disappointed if you don't. Remember it's a marathon, not a sprint. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to get Boston, but only that you were able to get there!Arcanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11291146140722678535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-347447671317913891.post-81496015413765527002008-03-28T22:51:00.000-04:002008-03-28T22:51:00.000-04:00YOU CAN TOTALLY DO IT, KIM!!Yep... that's all in b...YOU CAN TOTALLY DO IT, KIM!!

Yep... that's all in bold for a reason. You have the drive and determination and well all know that running (any endurance sport for that matter) is half mental. So you see, you've got half of it in the bag already. With quality training, you should really be able to shave your time down!

I'm SO rooting for you!!

Hope you have a terrific weekend. Rest that hip flexor as much as you can and then put on those running shoes next week and get to working on your new goal!!!Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02082457871394785441noreply@blogger.com
